About  Jen

Jen is a Mother of two boys and wife to her avid outdoorsman

Husband, Basil; they share a home situated on 12 acres of land (bountiful in wild medicinal herbs) in beautiful Trent Hills, Ontario.

Jen's passion for holistic health began long before her education and career as an Herbalist; for the last thirteen years, Jen has sought out alternatives to conventional medicine for a number of ailments and her success fostered her belief in the power of plant medicine.

Prior to her journey as an Herbalist, Jen enjoyed a fruitful career as a hairstylist, which gave her an immense amount of insight into the lives of the women she served, who would often confide in her their personal struggles which manifested in both emotional and physical health conditions.

She observed, throughout the years, how the conventional medical model was insufficient in it's ability to actually heal their patients and most often only provided options that would subdue symptoms; this frequently led to a "ripple effect" of additional prescriptions to mask drug-induced side effects.

Through Jen's own personal healing journey, after spending thousands of dollars with different programs and practitioners, and many remedies later, she learned that even in the "holistic"  realm,  many practitioners use a "one-size-fits-all" approach; many of the remedies prescribed to her were actually counterproductive to healing her patterns and prolonged the process as a whole.

Jen was finally able to find relief from her chronic symptoms & continues to build on to her already well-established health in all facets; physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

In the last five years, Jen's love for nature and holistic health has been rekindled and nurtured; through her inquisitive nature, passion and love for helping others, Jen discovered her true purpose and life mission was to inspire others to allow the power of plants to transform their own lives & become less dependent on the conventional medical system.

Now, as a Clinical Herbalist, Jen strives to adjust her practice to accommodate each individuals needs and pours her heart and soul into each and every one of her clients, helping them to remove blocks that keep them from truly healing.

Jen invests a great deal of her time studying and diving deeper into topics she remains passionate about: Chinese Medicine, and all ancient systems of botanical medicine. In her "free time" if she isn't learning or formulating, you will likely find her in the kitchen, spending quality time with her friends and family, or outside in the sun!

How itStarted

Jen began studying Herbal Medicine in 2020;

the uncertainty and unveiling during this time lent her the motivation to become more self-sufficient. Her love for herbal medicine grew as she became more wise to the beauty and intelligence of Nature's medicine that grew all around her. This perspective seeded confidence in her ability to take responsibility for the health of herself and her family. Jen continues to foster her love of learning through nature and is humbled by it's brilliance every day; she will be a student of Nature for life.

Jen has grown her knowledge and ability through three different institutions, the Herbal Academy, Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine and most recently, The School of Evolutionary Herbalism's Advanced Clinical Herbalist program. Jen intends to continue her education in formal Traditional Chinese Medical studies in Fall 2026.

Jen has also completed additional courses in Gut Health through the Integrative Nutrition Institute, Chinese (Traditional) Dietary Therapy with Pacific Rim College and Pleo Sanum Therapy/German Biological Medicine (BioMed).

Through her diverse education, personal healing journey, and many years in working with women, Jen's approach is thorough, compassionate and truly  holistic. Her practice is unique in it's ability to look through many lenses; it stands apart from the typical allopathic approach (herb for ailment) and considers the whole person & whole of each plant during treatment.

Jen's knowledge and dedication to uncovering the root cause of each person's symptoms coupled with her intuitive and investigative nature, make her a true asset to your personal healing journey.
